There are rss feeds for multiple topics (such as news feeds) as well as more specific rss feeds on almost any topic. First download a rss reader which can be found here: rss reader. For a quick simple explanation of how to start, click on SharpReader and download the two setup files.
Next select a rss feed from
http://channels.lockergnome.com/rss/resources.
Go to right side of their page where you see the logo
Finally open SharpReader. Click on "file" and then "open rss feed". In the window, paste the address of the rss file you copied. Some RSS readers will "auto discover" the RSS feeds on sites you browse, so no cutting and pasting is necessary! Consult the documentation for your RSS reader for more information.
About once an hour your reader will go to that URL and check to see if there are
any new additions. If there are, they will show up in your reader. If there are
not, nothing will happen, and that URL will automatically be checked again in an
hour. It's that simple. When there is an addition, you'll see it pop up in a
window on the lower part of your screen right above the clock in IE. RSS feeds can be downloaded that are marked with either of these two icons.
